It’s time for the Fairyloot January Unboxing! This box was delayed, and arrived earlier this month, but luckily it was in time for today’s scheduled unboxing! Here is what Fairyloot had to say on the announcement:
We are so excited to reveal the January theme for our monthly box and it is… GREEK MYTHOLOGY!
Fascinating tales told over thousands of years filled with betrayal, power, romance and magic — inspiring millions of people around the world. Gods and goddesses with too much power wreaking havoc on Earth, making very human mistakes. The allure of Greek mythology is undeniable, and this entire theme is inspired by it!
You can expect items inspired by Greek Gods and Goddesses, Circe, Percy Jackson, Lovely War and our featured book of the month. We’re thrilled to reveal that this box will have a stunning multi-coloured enamel metal bookmark (seriously, it’s jaw-dropping!) by @monolimeart and a beautiful book sleeve by @chattynora.
Our featured book of the month is a VERY highly anticipated release by a bestselling author, and we think it is one of our most spectacular editions to date! This contemporary fantasy is inspired by Greek mythology and is set in the modern world — it is a high-octane tale of power, destiny, love and redemption. This FairyLoot exclusive edition will have an EXCLUSIVE COVER, SPRAYED & STENCIL EDGES, ARTWORK ON THE REVERSE OF THE DUST JACKET, FOIL EMBOSSING ON THE FRONT AND BACK OF THE CASE, CUSTOM ENDPAPERS and will have a PRINTED SIGNATURE.

How great does this box sound?! I was so excited for it to arrive. Let’s get on with the unboxing!
The first item I found opening the box is this wooden spatula. This was designed by @kpdletters and features a quote from Julie Berry’s Lovely War.
Up next we have this Medusa inspired Iron-On Patch! The artist for this was @alyesasworld.
Pretty much every book lover loves a good bookmark, and that is what this next item is. This enamel bookmark, which features the Goddess Athena, was designed by @monolimeart.
The next item is a fandom based artprint. This Percy Jackson fanart was designed @arz28.
Next up we have this gorgeous trinket dish which depicts Cupid and Psyche. This was designed by @taratjah.
Finally we have my favourite item in this box, based on one of my favourite books, Circe by Madeline Miller. This book sleeve was designed by @chattynora.
Here we have this month’s Fairyscoop, theme art spoiler card, theme art bookmark and author letter art. The artist for the author letter is @runningquill_art.
This month’s Tarot cards are by @arz28 and are inspired by Renee Ahdieh’s The Wrath And The Dawn. They represent the Three and Four Of Wands.
It’s time for the book reveal! The book of January 2021 is:
From the #1 New York Times best-selling author of The Darkest Minds comes a sweepingly ambitious, high-octane tale of power, destiny, love and redemption.
Every seven years, the Agon begins. As punishment for a past rebellion, nine Greek gods are forced to walk the earth as mortals, hunted by the descendants of ancient bloodlines, all eager to kill a god and seize their divine power and immortality.
Long ago, Lore Perseous fled that brutal world in the wake of her family’s sadistic murder by a rival line, turning her back on the hunt’s promises of eternal glory. For years she’s pushed away any thought of revenge against the man–now a god–responsible for their deaths.
Yet as the next hunt dawns over New York City, two participants seek out her help: Castor, a childhood friend of Lore believed long dead, and a gravely wounded Athena, among the last of the original gods.
The goddess offers an alliance against their mutual enemy and, at last, a way for Lore to leave the Agon behind forever. But Lore’s decision to bind her fate to Athena’s and rejoin the hunt will come at a deadly cost–and still may not be enough to stop the rise of a new god with the power to bring humanity to its knees.
This edition of Lore has an exclusive cover, sprayed edges (which are also stencilled), artwork on the reverse of the dustjacket, custom endpapers, printed signature, and embossed foil on the cover, spine and back of the book.
How gorgeous is this edition? Here is the full unboxing photo;
As always, theme art used in featured photo is owned by Fairyloot and Taratjah, but all unboxing photos are my own.
