Bookish tags

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them Book Tag.

Today, 16th November 2018, marks the release of the newest Fantastic Beasts movie, The Crimes Of Grindelwald, and whilst I won’t get into the politics related to this movie, I absolutely loved the universe and wanted to do something fun for it.

I scoured the Internet for ages, but couldn’t find a nice Fantastic Beasts book tag, so I went to my favourite place for these kinds of things: Twitter. No one else had a book tag either. A friend; @Gemmasbooknook and I decided that we’d come up with one together. (You can find her blog here).

Let’s start shall we?

Newt – If you had a fiction job, what would it be? And why?

Personally, fictional or not, I’d like to think I’d work in some sort of library. Or be a crazy book collector like Aunt Eleanor in Cornelia Funkë’s Inkheart trilogy.

Nifflers love beautiful shiny things. What book did you buy because I’d a beautiful cover?

Oh my gosh. So many! Most recently, Leigh Bardugo’s Six Of Crows collectors edition.

image

Credence – Name a favourite character who is a tortured soul.

Definitely Kaz from Leigh Bardugo’ s Six Of Crows duology.

image

Bowtruckles are one of Newt’s smallest creatures. What is the smallest book on your tbr list?

At the moment, it’s probably Here We Are Now by Jasmine Warga

image

Graves – Name a character who turned out to not be who they seemed.

There are so many answers to this question, I’d be here forever if I tried to list them all. First one to come to mind, and in my opinion a classic, is Agatha from V. E. Schwab’s The Archived series (you can view my review of The Dark Vault here).

Erumpents are one of Newt’s largest creatures. What’s the largest book on your tbr?

Right now it’s probably Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. It is super daunting.

image

Queenie – Which fictional character would you like to get inside the mind of?

Lyra from Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials series.

image

Demiguise can see the future, unless someone does the unexpected. What book did you enjoy that was unexpected? Or name a book that turned out different to what was expected?

image

Uhm, probably The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin. I thought I would love it, but ending up DNFing.

Jacob – what piece of food. That you’ve read about. Would you like to try in real life?

When I was younger this question would have been answered immediately with Turkish Delight. But I’ve since tried that and didn’t not like it at all haha. Now it would be most of the sweets and treats from the Potter verse.

image

Obscurials are feared in the wizarding world. What is the scariest book you’ve read?

Honestly, I don’t get scared when reading a book, and I love a good creepy read. One of the most recent that I loved, was Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand.

image

Tina – Name a character who grows on you or you feel redeems themselves.

Definitely Rhysand. I was not a fan in the first book at all.

image

Swooping Evil – Which book would you like the reread for the first time if you could?

Thanks to my seizures, I lose huge chunks of my memory. This means even though I often reread, it’s almost like the first time everytime!

image

Grindelwald – Name a character you grew to hate.

In the same vein of answers for the Tina question, Tamlin. Whilst Rhysand grew, Tamlin made me want to punch him so often.

image

No Maj – Name a contemporary book that you think everybody should read.

I don’t even have to think about this, easily Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman.

This ended up being a lot more fun that I thought it was going to be. Of course, all graphics are copyright of Warner Bros. studio, no infringement intended.

I tag:
A Novel Purpose
A Cat, A Book And A Cup Of Tea.
Confessions Of A Bibliomiac.
The Tsundoku Chronicles

and ofcourse, you the reader if you fancy taking part.
