Blog Tour: Holding Out For A Hero – T.E. Kessler.

I’m excited to be working with Zooloo’s Book Tours to be bringing you an extract as part of the Holding Out For A Hero blog tour! Holding Out For A Hero is book one in the Jelvia: Not Human series. I’ll tell you a little about the book, the author, and then you’ll find the extract.

About The Book:

Who says your boyfriend has to be human?
Macy’s life changed forever when, as a child, her mother was murdered. The killers were never found, and Macy grew up looking for injustices and making them right.
She became a journalist, interviewing celebrities but lately found stardom shallow and pretentious.
There was just no putting right a teen-idol rockstar.
Things changed when her best friend was attacked but rescued by an unlikely hero.
The hero was a Jelvia.
Humans lived in fear of the Jelvia.
The Jelvia killed humans for fun.
Macy just saw a hero that she’d been looking for all her life.
This sci-fi romance contains some mature scenes, but if you’re looking for a hero, drop right in!

Author Bio:

If T.E Kessler were Daenerys Targaryen (Game of Thrones), the introduction would read something like this:
T. E Kessler the first of the Midlands in Great Britain, Queen of sci-fi romance, Mother of the Jelvia: Not Human series, Writer of books, Ruler of the TV, the Unburnt in the kitchen and the Breaker of promises (when it comes to diets).
On a serious note, Kessler enjoys writing sci-fi because of the blank canvas it presents to her. While she can invent science, worlds, aliens and creatures, she also injects strong emotion into the core of her books. She likes to explore human failures and victories in modern-day society and mix them with sci-fi themes, so expect to find human tragedies while turning the pages.
Her books contain mature themes.

Series so far…
HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO book 1
SURVIVING HER DOMINANT book 2
SPIDER book 3
…with another three books to conclude the Jelvia: Not Human series. Each book has its own story with satisfying endings.

And finally, time for the promised extract:

Macy Shaw, a journalist, is obsessed with Jelvias—a species living alongside the human. Taking advantage of her obsession, her boss calls on her to interview Narcifer, a Jelvian man, over the whereabouts of the Jelvian leader, Aldarn. Ultimately, Macy falls for Narcifer until it becomes clear to her that she’s a pawn between her world and the world of the Jelvias.

Extract from chapter twenty-two, book one of the Jelvia: Not Human series.

Holding out for a Hero #1

His roving hand slid up inside her tee-shirt, and she gasped at the coolness of his hands on her body. She tried to bat him away, giggling, to escape his cold hands, but it only resulted in her lying, face-down, over his knee.
One of his hands tightened around her, preventing all movement, while the other, becoming warmer by the second, continued to rub her backside.
Macy stilled; his playfulness had morphed into desire. She could hear the heaviness of his breath. She felt him raise the hem of her tee-shirt until she was exposed. His hand continued to stroke her bare flesh, pressing her deeper and deeper into his lap.
The position thrilled her, and her breath caught in her throat and held. The moment was electric, and she didn’t want to breathe out in case she broke the spell.
‘Nice position,’ he said.
Macy was still holding her breath. He was going to spank her—and it was going to be incredible, but abruptly she was turned to sit upright on his lap.
Releasing a breath, she looked up at him in surprise. He looked amused. He had been teasing her—another thought came to her—or, maybe, testing her.
‘Now, what were you saying?’ he asked.
‘You have an unstoppable appetite for making love.’
‘Uh-huh, I do.’ He tipped her chin up. ‘Okay?’ he asked.
‘I, yes, I thought…’
‘Thought you were going to be spanked?’
‘I…’ She flushed. It disturbed her that she’d wanted to be dominated like that. That so wasn’t her! Yet… she felt her body tingle… she was still in a high state of desire and probably wasn’t thinking straight. She tried to climb off his lap, but Narcifer held her still.
‘Hey, it’s okay,’ he said. ‘It’s okay to like something new. Sometimes we don’t know what we want until we’ve experienced it.’
‘You seem to push all my sensory buttons,’ she said.
Without taking his gaze off her, one of his hands slipped beneath her tee-shirt, and his thumb teased a puckering nipple.
‘And that’s okay,’ he said, ‘because you push mine too.’ His voice felt hypnotic. He lifted her tee-shirt over her breasts, then glided his fingers over her burning skin. His gaze travelled to her face, where she knew was a picture of ecstasy. ‘You’re perfect,’ he murmured, his gaze scorching her skin.
His hands travelled down to the junction of her thighs. Gently, he pushed her legs apart, and his fingers slipped inside her smoothly.
She couldn’t speak, her breath was too laboured as he finger-fucked her. His fingers dipped in and out, his thumb pressing against her nub, rubbing and flicking.
‘Narce!’ she shouted as her climax built. She tried to clamp her legs together—wanting to hold it off and have the moment last forever—but Narcifer’s fingers moved faster inside her.
She cried out as an orgasm ripped through her. Narcifer continued to pump his fingers, taking her to the very edge.
As she came down from her high, Narcifer didn’t pull out of her immediately. He waited as Macy, panting and feeling stunned at the feelings rushing through her, lay limp against him.
He pulled out of her gently and righted her tee-shirt over her body. He held her tightly, stroking her hair and strangely, Macy felt she wanted to sob into his chest.
She felt elated yet sad. Her bones were made of melted wax. She couldn’t move if her life depended on it. She’d never experienced an orgasm like it… no, it wasn’t the orgasm. It was more than that. It was life-enriching. Mind-blowing.
She gave a startled yelp as Narcifer stood up with her in his arms, then she was placed back in the warmth of his chair. She watched as Narcifer poured another coffee. He placed the cup on the side table next to her.
‘I’ll go and see if the laundry is ready,’ he broke into her thoughts.
She looked senselessly up at him, not understanding what he was talking about.
He grinned down at her. He knew just how he made her feel! She pushed herself up and picked up the cup. She sipped it, hoping she looked unruffled as if she had amazing orgasms all the time.
